Real Sudoku3D Desktop Instructions
Real Sudoku3D is an exciting extension of classic Sudoku!
SUDOKU BASICS
Fill in each cell with a number between 1 and 9. Make sure that each number appears only once in each row, column, and three by three facet area.
REAL SUDOKU3D EXTENSION
Sudoku3D extends this pattern into the third dimension as well, throughout the game grid (not just on the outer surfaces). Each number can only occur once on each line and each facet of the game in every direction.
The game can be thought of as having the following layers:
GAME NAVIGATION
Moving the game grid is easy. Just left-click and drag your mouse (or other pointing device) to rotate the grid left and right or up and down.
Alternatively, the arrow keys perform the same function.
Holding the 'Z' key down while rotating left or right instead turns the game grid like a dial.
The grid may also be panned (moved) left and right, or up and down by right-clicking the pointing device, or by Shift-left-clicking the pointing device.
Alternatively, the arrow keys may be used while holding down the shift key.
Pressing the 'Z' key while panning up or down zooms the game grid out or in respectively.
GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE
In the lower left part of the game dashboard, you can control which of the game layers is visible at any time using the numbered toggle buttons. The labels at the top of each column of buttons represent [F]aces [L]evels and [S]lices. Left-clicking on one of these column headers inverts the current visibility of those layers.
Clicking on the '+' key column header or presseing the esc key resets the game grid position to the opening view. Any puzzle entries remain intact.
The number buttons at the bottom center of the dashboard are used to enter the chosen number into a selected game cell.
Simply left click a game cube cell to select it (a cube highlight confirms your selection).
With the Auto Notes setting turned on, an auto-fill '*' button appears to the left of the number entry buttons. If any of the visible cells has only one note remaining in it, then pressing the auto-fill button sets the cell to that value for you in all those positions.
Enter custom notes in a selected cube with the numbers in the lower right corner of the screen.
All notes can be hidden or shown at any time with the toggle button above the notes entry area.
TIPS
Don't guess! There should always be at least one cell in which only one number will fit.
Each correct entry provides clues to help solve other puzzle positions.
You can use standard Sudoku strategies to solve cells on any chosen layer. If you run out of options, just move on to another layer.
Keep doing this to deduce all remaining cells until you win!
You can also use the additional information available on other layers directly to help solve tricky situations that might be difficult to see otherwise.
